The Next Step

I took Kirstie to her eye doctor this week. Her eye is not improving like it should, so we are trying the next intervention, which is patching it. Luckily she only has to wear a patch 2 hours per day for 6 weeks. But those are 2 very long hours! She does well when you first put it on, and is ok as long as she is busy. But the moment she gets bored or isn't entertained, off comes the patch, and it's a struggle to get it back on! Hopefully she'll get used to it as time goes on.

We'll take her back to the eye doctor in 6 weeks and talk about the possibility of surgery. Her doctor said it will most likely happen.

oh! That's so sad. At Allison's initial eye dr. visit he told her she might have to patch her eye if she didn't try hard enough to make her other eye work. Allie did a great job. At her follow-up appointment a couple of weeks ago she went from 20/200 very first to 20/50 with correction to now being 20/30. Hooray! We're going in in 6 months next.

I would imagine it's so much harder to reason with kirstie since she's so much younger. Keep up the hard work. She's such a cutie!!!

Kirstie has a lazy eye. We started with the glasses back at the end of November hoping that would correct it. Her did really well at first, but then stopped making progress. That's why we're doing the patch now. It's not fun, but worth it if it'll work! We'll do whatever we can to prevent surgery? What's wrong with Justin's eyes?
