Parade Float Preview

Each year we go to the Days of '47 Parade float preview.  This year we actually went twice-- once with playgroup and then again with my mom and sister.   I love seeing the floats up close and noticing all the details put into them.  Voting for our favorites was hard this year because I thought there were so many great floats!  Now we're excited to watch the parade on tv and see them all again!

This year the theme had something to do with dreams.  This float had a wishing well.  Kirstie drew a picture of her dream (first time she said "I like to play games," and the next day said "I want to be a princess.")  You dropped your dream in the wishing well and it will be carried all throughout the parade!

This float was a "dream machine."  They gave you a coin to throw in this gold hat.  It then went into the dream machine to make your dream come true.  Also very cute!

There were lots of hands-on activities for the kids with many of the floats.  The kids got to hunt for fools gold...

...and pirates' treasure...

...and do bean bag tosses.

And there were lots of fun places to stick your head (I don't know a better way to word that!)

Stopping for this photo reminded Kirstie that we didn't ride the ferris wheel at Disneyland.  She became so distraught all over again about it.

Kirstie also discovered that she could dry her hair this way.  Giggles!!

Of all the beautiful floats we saw, I think this one beats them all.  You can never go wrong by putting a giant Jesus on your float, right?  This one made me chuckle.
