I love having the library just up the road from us. We go there once a week for new books, movies, and great activities like these ones! The other week they had the fire department there. A fireman spoke to us and they put all their gear on to show the kids. Then we got to go out and see a fire truck and ambulance. Ian was in heaven! He LOVES firemen and everything to do with them. Lately he's discovered fire hydrants, which he calls "fire truck stations." He excitedly points them out as we're driving along. "There's another!! Wow! Look, there's another!"-- over and over again!
Today we went back to the library to meet a policeman! They had a great presentation about all sorts of safety and then we went out to see the police cars.
The kids got to crawl in the back seat.
And the front seat. They even got to push the button to turn the siren on!
I love that Kirstie has one foot in and one foot out-- she wasn't too sure about this.
We met the McGruff Dog. Kirstie, of course, was terrified of him. Bless her heart. She's such a scaredy cat! But Ian the Brave had fun giving him five and posing for a picture. The best part of all of this was that Chik-Fil-A showed up with free chicken nuggets. We barely missed getting one, but instead got coupons for free kids meals. I'll take it!!
