Last year we started a tradition of making a Gratitude Tree for each kid. Each night they get to choose something they're thankful for, write it on a leaf and hang it on their tree. It's fun to see what they think of each night. Ian always wanted to write down one of his toys. We put a generic "toys" leaf on, so we tried to help him stretch his thinking a bit. But most of it they did come up with on their own.
I love the leaves on Ian's tree. He love to sort things into colors, so for the most part, his leaves are hung according to color.
