Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve-- the most magical night of the year!  It's my favorite time of the season-- probably of the year actually.  The smells, the excitement, there's just a feeling in the air that is so fun and so special.  We spend Christmas Eve with my side of the family and the night is full of traditions!  We start with a traditional dinner of ham, company potatoes and other yummy foods!  Following that, the kids put on the nativity.
This year Ian refused to participate in it. Instead, he was content to sit on a chair and hold his "baby Jesus."

Kirstie was an angel this year along with Kaitlin and Adi.

Singing Christmas songs has been an Olsen family tradition forever.  It's something I loved as child at my grandparents' house.  This year each kid got to write down their favorite Christmas song.  We took turns drawing one out of a bowl and then they got to lead everyone in their song.  Ian chose Jingle Bells and Kirstie chose Deck the Halls.

Christmas PJs!  The girls were all matching this year!

My mom always finds the cutest pjs for Ian!

Strike a pose!

After all that fun, it's present time!  My parents hit homeruns with the kids' presents this year!  They LOVED each one!!  Ian got this great bulldozer.

Despite her face, Kirstie really did love this princess microphone.  She's put on many, many shows for us.  She also uses it to talk to me when we're in separate rooms.

The kids were thrilled before they even opened the presents by the sheer size of them!

Kirstie also got a Barbie cruise ship with a Barbie and Ken doll.

Ian got a car track with a car-carrier truck.  (That was a lame description of a cool present!)
