A Whole New World!

Kirstie has just had a whole new world opened up to her. We foung out two weeks ago that she is extremely far-sighted-- 3 times more so than typical kids her age. Everything she saw was a blur. How sad is that!

Today we got her glasses! She's actually done really well wearing them. We didn't have much trouble with her fussing about putting them on or trying to pull them off until tonight. It was so cute to see her reaction when she put them on for the first time. She looked at herself in the mirror and gave a HUGE smile. Then she started looking around and pointing to everything, as if it were all brand new.

This will be a big adjustment (she gets mad cuz she can't rub her eyes), but it will be worth it in the end. I'm just so glad that she can see now!

This is the reason we took her to the eye doctor in the first place-- can you see how crossed her left eye is? The glasses should hopefully fix this.

This is just a cute picture of her. I love the dress she wore to church yesterday!
