The Pumpkin Patch

When Kirstie was just a little girl, we found this fun pumpkin patch near our house.  It's been a family tradition since then to go each October and buy a few pumpkins.   It was kinda strange to go this year because it's been so warm-- it didn't really feel like October yet.  But we still had fun.

They have cute wagons for the kids to use, which they love.

Kirstie got a kick out of the green and white pumpkins.

What a silly face!  This is her new thing to do.  Silly girl!

Ian quickly learned that pumpkins can have very prickly stems.

The kids loved taking turns pulling the wagon.

I don't know why it is so difficult to pick out pumpkins.  I guess it's just because I'm indecisive.  But we kept finding all these perfect pumpkins.  We put them all in a line and let the kids each pick one out.  Ian wanted to carry his around.  "Heavy!  Heavy!"

Then they wanted to take turns pulling each other and the pumpkins in the wagon.  Ian was determined to do it without help.  Needless to say, it took us awhile to get back to the car.

The pumpkin patch people have cute little displays all over- perfect for taking pictures!  (There's her silly face again!)

Kirstie wanted her picture taken EVERYWHERE!

I did get Ian to sit down for a couple of quick pictures, but he was really loving all the wagons and wheelbarrows they had there.

We're excited for our pumpkins!  Kirstie asks every day if we can either paint or carve them.  She wants her pumpkin to be a princess pumpkin.  Wish us luck with that one!
