Be My Valentine!

Happy Valentine's Day!!
Kirstie had a great time at her preschool Valentine party.  She was excited to take her valentine box.  I'm hoping that we can keep it somewhere safe and she can use it again next year.  While making this I had two thoughts.  #1: I'm glad I only have one kid that I need to do this kind of thing for right now. #2: When I taught 2nd grade we made Valentine sacks at school.  I bet parents loved us for that!

I always try to do something festive for the family on Valentine's Day.  This year we had a heart-shaped meatloaf and heart jello jigglers for dinner.  Kirstie wanted to have a valentine party too.  So after dinner we played games and danced around to music.  She had to change her clothes, get dressed up and put on her Rapunzel hair for our party.

We gave the kids each a little balloon, box of chocolates and a valentine that I made.  Kirstie was so sweet and kept telling us thank you over and over again and let us know how much she loved them.  Ian followed her example and did the same.  That's one of the things I love about Kirstie-- she's very genuine and really appreciates when she gets things from people.

It's been our tradition the past few years to have fondue on Valentine's Day.  We all loved it!

Ian wouldn't actually let the chocolate touch any of his food-- he doesn't like his food to "get dirty."  He doesn't know what he's missing out on!
