Lagoon

(Warning:  please forgive the sheer volume of pictures in this post.  I started choosing some from my pictures, but then found more that my dad sent me.  His are much better, but I was too lazy to delete them.  Feel free to scroll quickly through them!)
A couple of weeks ago we went to Lagoon with my entire family-- my parents, siblings and their families.  Wanting to spend as much time their as possible, we left nice and early.  Oh wait, I forgot to bring tylenol.  So, we turned around to get some.  On our way again, I realized I forgot our discount tickets and the money set aside for the tickets (kind of essential), so back to our house again.  Luckily we were never too far away, but it still took longer than we wanted.
But we finally got there and started in KiddieLand with the nostalgic baby boats.

Kirstie's favorite ride was Puff the Magic Dragon.  She went on it countless times.  Ian loved it as well.

There are a couple of new rides at Lagoon this year.  Riding the teacups just made me want to do go Disneyland.  At Lagoon the ride is so slow-moving because everyone is seat-belted in and they have to be released by the workers individually.

Kirstie wanted to go on all the rides with her cousins or her aunt Melissa.

Red Rock Rally is another new ride.  This one is actually quite fun!  Ian was enthralled by the big trucks!  Definitely one of his favorites.

Another one-- Bulgy the Whale.  I can't believe this one is still here.  There was hardly ever a line so my kids kept going and going on it.  One time their 8 year old cousin went on it with them.  The ride ended and as she hopped out she said, "That was weird."  Made me laugh!

Awww, the train.  This is one of the most-looked-forward-to rides for our kids and I think it lived up to the expectations.  I think there are almost cooler animals here than at the zoo-- lions, zebras, etc.  But poor animals in those tiny cages.  Why don't they just sell them to the zoo and give them a somewhat better place to live?

The tilt-a-whirl is one of my favorite rides!  Last year both of my kids loved it.  This year Kirstie wasn't too sure about it, but Ian LOVED it!  He says it was his favorite ride.  He had this huge grin on his face the whole time.

Just before dinner it started raining.  Hard.  It rained for about 1.5 hours.  Our family was camped out under a pavilion waiting it out.  Most rides closed down, but there were a few still open.  Some of my crazy nieces and nephews got soaked going on the rides.  Brent and my sister stood in line for Samurai and got soaked too.  Luckily, my brother had some umbrellas in his car.  We used those to run around and get some dinner while the rain slowed down.   When the rain stopped, Brent was shivering so he borrowed my jacket to warm up.  How hot is he??

The best part about the rain was that most people left.  Once it stopped, it wasn't too cold and the park was practically empty!  We were able to walk right onto many rides!
All the grandkids went on this swing ride together.  The took up all the swings on one arm of the ride.

Brent went on the ride with them.  He was all by himself.  It was kinda fun to have the whole ride just for our family!

Ladybug Bop.  Ian looks excited here.  He said he liked the ride, but wouldn't go on it again.

Ian, Paige, Kaitlin and Kirstie.

Isn't he cute?

Our kids made it all the way til closing at 10:00.  In fact I think they would have stayed longer if they could have.  They had so much fun-- especially with their cousins!  It's great to have family that we love and have fun with!  Kirstie and Ian are always asking when we get to go again and are planning what rides they'll go on and with who.
