Halloween!

Happy Halloween!!
We started the morning off over at the elementary school for the Halloween parade.  As we were waiting for it to start, I just kept thinking, "Boy, I'm glad I'm not a teacher today!"  There are many days when I really miss teaching.  Halloween is not one of them-- hyper kids, parading around in front of parents in a costume, so many reasons!!

Kirstie's class was one of the first to come through.  (Actually, they came twice, which was nice to have 2 shots at pictures!)
Here's her teacher, Miss Brinton.  Kirstie was first in line which made it kinda hard to get a good picture.

I love little kids because they are so intent on following rules.  Parents ask them to pause for just a moment to take their picture, but they can't.  The line is moving and they have to keep up!

Here's Mickey Mouse!  My sister Melissa came as well.  She took Ian home after the parade while I stayed and helped with the party.

I love this picture!

This is Kirstie and her friend Amber.  Amber lives just across the street from us.

There were lots of parents there to help with the party after the parade.  Both morning and afternoon Kindergarten came at the same time.  The teacher just divided the cafeteria in half and had two parties going on at the same time.  They had a ring toss, build-a-skeleton race, and a question walk (like a cake walk, but when instead of getting a cake/cupcake they were asked a question.)
Kirstie's teacher always calls me her "go-to-gal" and says that she reserves certain things for me to do since I have experience in the classroom.  So, my big job for the party?  Setting out napkins and cookie.  23 of them.  Whew!  Luckily, I was able to manage it.  I even put out Capri Suns with them too!  But it was nice to have a low-key assignment so I could walk around, take pictures, and observe things going on.

I threw this one in because Kirstie loves to take pictures.  Lately, she's been mastering the art of taking a "selfie."

Boy, was Halloween the longest day ever!  We couldn't wait to go trick-or-treating!  I wish that Daylight savings occured before Halloween so that it got darker sooner and we could go out earlier.

This is one of my favorite pictures of them!

I love her silly poses.

"Welcome to Disneyland!"

Kirstie took this picture of me and Brent.

We headed over to my parents' house to grab a bite to eat before trick or treating.  We all ate, cleaned up, and then waited, waited, waited for Kirstie to finish eating.  Sometimes she is such a slow eater!  At least she eats!

Happy Halloween!!!
