The end of the school year is here. Wow, that went by way too fast. I'm not ready to have Kirstie in school full time. I love having her home. I love eating lunch with her and running errands together (most of the time). It'll be sad not to have her home as much. I don't know what Ian's going to do without her home!
Anyway....back to the point. It's the end of the school year which means lots of things to do to wrap up the year. The other week Kindergarten got to have lunch at school to prepare them for first grade! So exciting!! Kirstie counted down the days for this, and picked out a special outfit. Parents were invited to come. Kirstie told me that I HAD to come because f a parent came, as soon as you were done eating, you got to leave-- even if school wasn't over yet! I couldn't disappoint her. So, we both ordered a hot lunch of chicken nuggets, tator tots, pork n beans, and fruit. Oh and the best part-- chocolate milk! Kirstie will take a cold lunch to school next year, but we wanted to get the whole experience. We had fun chatting with her friends and other moms (ok, the kids didn't really say much), eating our lunch and then leaving-- although we didn't actually leave early, it was right on time. But she didn't seem to notice.
Last week was The Grand Event at Kirstie's school. It is an annual fundraiser to raise money for technology. There are lots of different games and activities to play, a silent and live auction, and entertainment from the students. Kirstie and the Kindergarteners sang a song about pirates. I took some video before our battery died, but now I can't find the video. But they did a really cute job.
Kirstie's favorite thing of the night was getting a manicure. We waited in line a LONG time. But she went into a room, soaked her hands, and a teacher gave her a little manicure. They gave her a mint and rubbed her hands and lotion. Kirstie picked out sparkly nail polish.
