We have a big peach tree in our yard. When we first moved in we had a great crop of peaches-- most of which I gave away. I figured there was no use in canning them since I was the only one who would eat them. After that we really didn't have much success with peaches growing. In fact one year we had one peach-- yep just one big softball-sized peach. This year we had a GREAT year with our peaches and I decided to do something with them for me and the kids to enjoy (that's right-- Brent still won't eat fresh peaches from our tree. Crazy boy.) Here's a few things I've done with them. Just call me Domestic Diva from now.
Brent's mom helped me can my peaches one morning. I took over just some of our crop and we canned 11 jars! Later that night I made peach cobbler. Too bad I didn't take a picture of that one. It was Y-U-M yummy!
Yesterday I tried my hand at freezer jam. I had no idea how easy it is and I wish I'd been doing it all along! We still have a few peaches left and I'm debating what to do with them. Waffles with fresh peaches and cream is my favorite breakfast, so that's a must. Maybe some more jam too since I had a neighbor offer to trade me homemade bread for some jam. :)
