Yesterday Kirstie started Preschool! She has been looking forward to this day for a LONG time! She was very excited to go, and since it doesn't start until 11:30, it made for a very long morning. I had the realization that my carefree days with the kids are over. I'm so used to having freedom to do things whenever I wanted without being tied down twice a week. And after I dropped her off, I was so worried that lose track of time and be late picking her up. I kept looking at the clock every 5 minutes.
Kirstie was very excited about her new princess backpack. Mom was very excited to find it for cheap at a garage sale.
Kirstie's teacher is Mrs. King. She comes very highly recommended from many friends and neighbors. We don't have any friends from the neighborhood going there, so Kirstie make lots of new friends this year. Kirstie's first project was stinging cheerios on a piece of yarn to make a necklace.
Mrs. King taught the class a song about making friends. The students would all sing it each time a parent came to pick up their kid.
Kirstie learned about ladybugs at school. She's very proud of the ladybug she made. She glued the dots on by herself, but she "didn't know what to do with the anteannas. She also told me that they watched a movie about ladybugs and an ant pushed a ladybug down. Sounds interesting! Next time you see her, ask her what ladybugs eat.
Later that day, Kirstie and I sat down to do her homework. She's such a smart little girl and I'm excited to see all the new things she's going to learn this year!
