Halloween Party!

Growing up, we often had Halloween parties with all our cousins.  Sometimes at my grandparents' house, sometimes at our house.  It was always a fun time and made some great memories.  My aunts and cousins decided to revive the tradition this year.  I knew my kids would have a great time so we went!  It's always fun to see my cousins (we don't get together very often at all) and all their kids-- some whose names I had to be reminded of.  That's how often we get together.

My kids had lots of fun playing games with these "new" friends and celebrating Halloween.
(See my cousin Matt in the back in the red shirt-- he dressed up as Magnum PI.  I thought it was pretty darn funny!)

Here's a picture of the 13 little cousins who were there.  There are 5 other cousins who couldn't be there that night.

Take a good look at Brent's "costume."  Yep, that's him in a Utah shirt!  He wasn't going to dress up at all, but at last minute I convinced him to wear my shirt and go as a Utes Fan.  I also suggested he wear the scrubs instead of me and he could tell people he was an OB/GYN.  He didn't think it would be as funny as I did.  To say that Kirstie was excited to wear her Alice in Wonderland costume would be a huge understatement.  She's been looking forward to this for a long time!  Ian is going to be a monkey for Halloween, but it was a warm day and I thought he'd be too hot, so he went as a train conductor instead.  My dad, always the clever man, dressed as an undecided voter.

Ian found a new friend, Eli, to play ball with.

Kirstie had fun with all the girls-- Katie, Paige and Sydney (Tinkerbell in the other pictures).

It wouldn't be a Halloween party without the classic Donut-On-A-String contest.  Kirstie reminds me so much of me when I was younger.  She was having a hard time, but knew the rules were to not use her hands.  So she did the best she could until someone helped her.  And when we have her permission to use her hands, she was so relieved.

Ian didn't care what the rules were-- he wanted that donut!

We finished the evening with dinner and dessert.  It was a fun night and fun to see all the family again!
