Superhero Fun Run

Kirstie's school had a superhero fun run last month.  Each kid was supposed to dress as their favorite super hero.  Super hero attire isn't easily found in my 5-year-old girls closet.  Barbies, princesses, and everything girly, yes!  But no superheros.  Luckily our friend had an extra cape that Kirstie borrowed.
For family night that evening, we headed over to the school for the fun run.

Here are my three superheroes!

I graciously let Brent run the course with the kids-- twice.  The had hay bales to jump over, a streamer "tunnel" to crawl through, and then a short distance to run.  The Edgemont Eagle was there to cheer everyone one.  Kristie LOVES that she's an Edgemont Eagle.  This girl is bursting with school pride.  Tonight we drove past her school and she said, "I sure love being an elementary eagle."  She doesn't have the wording quite right, but the feeling is!

Ian, though a great runner, couldn't quite keep up with this little legs.

Kirstie kept talking to me about a float her class was making.  Apparently, both Kindergarten classes made a patriotic float.  Each kid decorated a star with their name on it.  I think it was a lesson about cooperation or something.  So, they displayed their floats during the fun run.  Her teacher is standing in the background in the blue shirt.

Spiderman even made an appearance at the fun run.  I was surprised when Kirstie wanted to have her picture taken with him and Ian did not!
