Birthday Boy

Happy 4th Birthday to our Mr. Ian!  Ian is the perfect blend of sweetness, humor, and mischief.  He loves to give hugs and kisses, play in the dirt, play with friends, and sing songs.  His favorite friend to play with is Daddy- especially when they play baseball together.

To celebrate his birthday this year, we had a baseball theme.  We had a party with all our family members (All of them!  That never happens!) on Sunday, the day before his birthday.  We kept it simple opening presents, eating cake and ice cream, and letting the kids run around and play.
He got some really fun presents-- thanks everyone!

I kept his cake pretty simple, but I think it turned out really cute!

The morning of his birthday he invited a few friends over for a party.  This was his first party with friends.  They were so cute with each other and had so much fun.  We played pin the ball on the baseball field...

And musical chairs.  I tried to convince Ian to do musical bases instead, but he wouldn't have it.  We played this game over and over and over and over...They were having too much fun walking forwards, backwards, sideways, etc.  After awhile they added a 4th chair so that everyone got a seat each time.

We threw a ball to knock over cans...

...And played water balloon t-ball.  I was amazed at how Ian made the balloon explode each time! He his it just right.

I just love this picture of Ian and his friend Cade.  They are such cute friends who get along so well.

Later that night, Ian chose to go to McDonald's for dinner.  We came home and opened presents from our family.  Then we replayed the party games since Kirstie was at school during his friend party.  It was a long, but fun day!
